History and Nature of Business

Crittall Hope Limited is registered in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe under registration number 291/50 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed ZECO HOLDINGS LIMITED.

Crittall Hope Limited was established in Zimbabwe in 1950 as a subsidiary of Crittall Hope Limited (United Kingdom), the British company that was a household name in Europe. The factory was built in 1952 with an initial factory area of 2,500 square meters and had fifty employees. Through the years, the factory was gradually extended to an area of 10,000 square meters with eighty-one factory and sixteen administration employees. In 1968, Lonrho bought the company from Crittall-Hope Limited (United Kingdom). In April 1998 Lonrho sold the company to Native Africa Investments Group.

Crittall Hope is one of the largest manufacturers of window and door frames, substation doors, steel doors, roller shutter doors as well as school, office and kitchenfurniture. The company prides itself as a producer of quality products which carry the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) approval. Crittall Hope is a member of the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe (CIFOZ) and is an innovative and forward looking company with a multi-skilled and diversely experienced human resource base.
